One of the biggest issues that we’ve sadly seen lead to people unnecessarily deteriorating is a lack of fresh activities and ideas as part of their lives. The problem is that someone in their advanced age can become very “content” with living the exact same day over and over again. They become resistant to changes. In our experience, trying to change that, especially for people who are still in a good mental state, is worthwhile even if we do get some resistance. We can help you plan different activities to bring some new experiences into stagnant lives.
Working Out Ideas That The Person Could Enjoy One of the most important things that can help a person recover a decent quality of life is having different things to do throughout the day. We’ll work together with you to craft ideas for activities that the person can enjoy to ensure that they don’t get stuck living the same day over and over again. Which, unfortunately, is something very common for people in their older years. It leads to a lot of the mental health issues that people of advanced age deal with.
Errands & Transportation Needs Maybe you’re someone who is looking for care for yourself, and you want someone to help you with errands and transportation. In other cases, the family members of an older person who lives alone want someone to be alongside them to help them with incidental transportation needs. You wouldn’t need to have a caregiver on hand all day, every day, to be able to book one of these services. If it’s something that you need on a per-case basis, that’s something that we’re going to be able to provide. Sometimes, our caregivers, who are on hand all day, can provide these services as well.
Family Members Don’t Have to be Present During These Activities This is one of the whole reasons why we help with planning and assistance. We know that a lot of times, other family members can’t be there to care for their loved ones. In a fully assisted care situation, we’ll usually sit down with the guardian and talk about the plans for the week and if we need to head out to a doctor’s appointment or even a social event. We’ll set those daily schedules and make sure that we get people where they need to be.
Regular Updates On The Person’s Moods & Health Many of the people who reach out requesting our services do so because they are, in one way or another, forced to live away from their parents or loved ones. A part of our job is to make sure that we’re able to provide a clear picture of what the daily life of that person is. Since we’re there, we take the responsibility of updating the family on a potential health crisis of course. The good days and the differences that we see the person enjoying are also “good news” elements that we love to pass along as well.
