Light Housekeeping
There are different things that could get dirty when we’re providing care for someone. Our staff is fully capable of providing light housekeeping work. In most instances, what we’ll be doing is laundry to make sure that the person we’re caring for always has clean clothes and bed sheets. We’re also able to do some kitchen and bathroom cleaning. In both instances, we want to make sure that everything is in its right place. The idea is to ensure that the house is in decent condition. Especially if certain accidents happen and we need to clean up. We won’t be leaving a mess behind at any point.
Adjusting To Your Needs & Preferences
Some of the homes we work in have other people living there, which is perfectly fine. If you’re living with the loved one who needs extra care, you may be very specific about the way that you like things. The person that we’re helping may have certain personal preferences regarding laundry and who they want to deal with certain machines and things of that nature. We say this to explain that we can adapt our services to the needs and rules of the household.
We May Require Cleaning Supplies To Fulfill Our Duties
If you’re specific about the type of cleaning materials that you like to be used in the home, that’s perfectly fine. All that we ask is that you provide our staff with clear instructions on how you like things done. In many instances, we like to get a clear idea from day one where certain things are around the house. Plus, how you like things to be cleaned. Spills and things of that nature are common in our line of work. We want to make sure that the house remains clean in spite of these situations.
We May Take On More Responsibilities in Live-In Care
It’s one thing to work in a house where there are more family members around and some of the cleaning and even cooking duties are shared. When we provide live-in care services to people who live alone or with a partner who also needs care, our staff will naturally take on more duties around the household. That doesn’t mean that we’re going to be taking the liberty of “doing things our way.” Any housekeeping services that we provide will follow the guidelines that are set for by the homeowner or the person who originally booked the service.
What Are The Boundaries of The Service?
This is one of those questions that we get asked quite often when we mention that we offer this service. As mentioned, each situation is going to be unique. It’s not the same thing as walking into a home where our caregivers will be alone with the person that they’re accompanying as it would be to walk into a larger family home. Before we begin to work together we usually sit down with the family and talk through how this particular part of the service is going to work. That way all of the expectations and boundaries around the service are clear.
